Lady 04:34
Lady don’t you know it’s a crime To look at me like you do You steal away my world of pretense You steal away my confidence O Lady don’t you know it’s a crime To look at me like you do You steal away my independence And all I want is you I’ve been so long now by myself I’m rigid like an old stone wall And if you come to me I’m afraid you’ll shake me Afraid you’ll break me Down to the cold hard ground And I’m afraid I’ll stay Fallen down Unable to rebuild the heart that’s been broken Time and time before In fear, I’m hoping you’ll go away In hope, I’m wishing you’ll want to stay In my arms, close to me Sharing in my secrecy Breaking down my fortress wall Entering my city hall Joined as one, a burning flame Showing our love with no restrain O Lady don’t you know it’s a crime To look at me like you do You steal away my independence And all I want is you So take me in Ally my fears Hold me close And kiss my trembling tears O Lady don’t you know it’s a crime

Surrounded by song Lying awake in your arms Feeling far away With a thousand things to say I know it’s been hard For you to get through to me But I know in my heart That I long to be close to you And for you to stay with me **Help me learn to love you Help me grow to understand That I’m not alone in this world I’m not a solitary man Help me learn to love you And to share my heavy load To see that I don’t have to walk alone When I have your precious hand to hold Surrounded by song Awaiting for a change Pushing too long Waiting for that gentle refrain Stepping out of the dark Finally I’m able to see That there all along You’ve been right next to me

Time with you was sweet and time with you was sad Had I known at the beginning it would all turn out so bad I would have called it quits a long, long time ago Instead I fell in love with you and went on with the show I gotta let it go I gotta walk through the pain Understand the time it takes to gain my feet again I gotta let it go and not be led astray It’s so easy to lose my footing when I’m in the darkening grey I loved you from the beginning and felt our love was real Although we tried so hard to make things work we couldn’t gain an even keel Now we’re bent and broken, hearts bleeding in our chests So let’s salvage all of that which was good and scrap all of the rest We gotta let it go, we gotta walk through the pain Understand the time it takes to gain our feet again We gotta let it go and not be led astray Hang on to what we know is true and wait for a brighter day The tendency is to run and hide from the pain you are to feel Close yourself up inside to the feelings that are real Jump into another relationship or work you life away Pretend your wounded heart doesn’t make you hurt while you’re looking the other way You gotta let it go, you gotta walk through the pain Understand the time it takes to gain your feet again You gotta let it go and not be led astray It’s so easy to lose my footing when you’re in the darkening grey You gotta let it go, you gotta walk through the pain Understand the time it takes to gain your feet again You gotta let it go and not be led astray Hang on to what you know is true and wait for a brighter day

You 04:31
For the moment I’m free, bound by no man Able to roam from land to land An image of you is clear in my mind Your heart and mine have been entwined Oh to see just a ways down the road And glimpse at the promise my life does hold To find my direction, to establish my day To be freed from my meandering way Ahhh… But You ease my mind In You, peace I find It hard to know all the why’s and the how’s And it’s hard to make sense of the here and the now Precious together, but now we’re alone And I’m traveling far from my home Sometimes I’ll fear and I’ll run away To keep my loneliness and sadness at bay Braving the fire, fording the stream With your image dancing in my dreams Ahhh… So often I want it to come to an end For plot to unfold without wrinkle or bend To find my direction, to be healed and be whole Deep within the marrow of my soul But life can’t be contained in a book on the shelf And it’s fearful to stand alone by yourself In a world where rhyme and reason are rare And so often things seem so damn unfair Ahhh… But You ease my mind In You, peace I find

The day broke like gold, there was life in the air And I was edging on excitement like a boy And I saw your smiles and we walked many miles And my heart was a singing with joy **Now ain’t that the way it should be With our hearts unfettered and free Now ain’t that the way it should be I’m a loving you, and you’re loving me When we finally arrived we looked to the sky And saw the mountains we’d climb that day And I was tied to you and you were tied to me And there we were together at play Well we climbed through the day til’ the sun sped away And majestically lit up the sky And as we passed ‘round the wine the full moon began to climb The mountain across the way Now the sunlight was gone but the moonlight led on As we journeyed our way toward home And as we broke bread, there was a song in my head A happy tune that wouldn’t leave me alone

Oh my Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, On earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us of our debts as we forgive And lead us not into temptation But deliver us from the evil one For Thine is the kingdom And the power And the glory Forever and ever amen.

I awoke in the morning to Your voice in my head You were callin’ out a warning I heard every word you said. You said, “Go to the mountain, The Son you shall see; Go to the mountain, To set your spirit free.” I awoke in the morning to Your sunlight on my face I could feel the warmth of Your beauty And see the beauty in Your grace I awoke in the morning and started walking down that road I could feel You there beside me As if my hand you did hold

about

This is the first album I ever recorded. The recording took place after a particularly difficult time in my life but a time that I now value as it opened me up to a side of myself that I really didn't know existed. I enjoy the album because of its raw simpleness and honesty. It is warm.

about

The Co Brothers Silverthorne, Colorado

The Co Brothers over the years have produced a significant body of acoustic, lyric driven music that comes largely from a place of thoughtfulness and questioning. They find a joy in following the mysterious thread of music to wherever it leads.
